My son and I accompanied my husband on a brief business trip to Nashville a few years ago. While the husband conferenced the kid and I decided to enjoy the day and headed out sightseeing. Nashville is amazing. The government buildings are Greek revival architecture then the very next block shifts from historic, to modern and then shanty. The streets are extremely narrow, hilly, winding and parking is at a premium.
As I had circled one block for the 10th time trying to get a parking space - I heard a clear and sharp voice in my right ear state, "Stop - grab the water bottle." I was nearing an intersection, had the green light but I did exactly what I was told to do. At that instant a white pick up truck blew through the intersection. There is no question he would have slammed us.
There was no one in the car with me other than my son sitting in the rear seat.
